As the holidays near – and this rickety barge approaches the end of its fifth year afloat - posting will for a while be more intermittent than usual. Subscribing to the blog feed is therefore recommended. As always, thanks for taking the time to comment and for all the donations made towards the upkeep of the barge. Newcomers may wish to rummage through the archives and updated greatest hits, where things like this and this and this are not at all uncommon.
Before heading off to indulge in the traditional festive pastimes, I’ll leave you with some immensely practical wisdom.
Don’t torment the frog:
To you and yours, a very good one.
Merry Christmas David (and the regulars).
Another five years, please.

A wonderful Yuletide to both our host and all the rest of us.
May the festivities last until there is more pigs-blood than snow on the ground!
(trad. Norwegian well-wishing. My translation may be a little off)
Yours,

I thought it went quite well - well, up to the point that he introduced a new lure to the frog's field of vision...

For his pains, the frog attacked him. Cool.

Cross-dressed clay pigeon shooting? Again?
Merry Christmas, David.

Are the hunters cross-dressing, or the pigeons?
