Anna

This good –from the ASI comments:

Let's see.
Say I pay myself, from my business, 250,000.
Tax: 103,126
NI: 8337
Employer's NI: 33,466
State takes: 144,929
I am left with: 138,536
From every pound I earn the state takes 51p. Then there's VAT, council tax, TV tax, road tax, fuel duty, stamp duty. Then from whatever is left the state will take again a huge share when I die.
Tax freedom day? Sounds like the next day after I die.

'In the 1960s, there were 18 workers per Medicaid recipient. Today that number is 2.5. There are just 1.2 private sector workers per 1 person on welfare or working for government.'

Adding to the fun is that Obama has now gutted the work requirement for welfare!
