That seems an easy fix. If we find that your daughter(s) have been genitally mutilated, we cut your nuts off. Fair?

I’m trying to imagine how that particular conversation went.

You should see what happened when he called the Rape Advice Line.

I wonder if the kids were taken into care?

Will be interesting (if the tale is true) how the 'It's Their Culture, Innit?' lamebrains will respond to this, other than their usual method of ignoring anything untoward about our new friends.

Genital mutilation always makes me think of Sir Charles Napier's statement on Suttee while in India:

"Be it so. This burning of widows is your custom; prepare the funeral pile. But my nation has also a custom. When men burn women alive we hang them, and confiscate all their property. My carpenters shall therefore erect gibbets on which to hang all concerned when the widow is consumed. Let us all act according to national customs."

If you find a girl who's been mutilated, you treat it as child abuse and lock up everybody who had anything to do with it for a very long time. That'd put a stop to it. It's a foul practice and should not be tolerated.

Germaine Greer has already defended FGM in her book The Whole Woman.

An act of primitive barbarism defended by a "progressive".

The brutal abuse of prepubescent girls defended by a feminist.

Slicing off of women's body parts defended in a book called The Whole Woman.

OK, so you'd think that someone the left regard as a leading intellectual would have the brains to avoid such a multilayered trainwreck of irony and fail. But maybe the brilliance of her arguments can in some way make up for her hapless blunderings and comical lack of self awareness.

So why does Ms Greer wish to defend this brutal and retrograde practice? Because opposing it is "and attack on cultural identity." Just like opposing state sponsored mass slaughter for entertainment is an attack on Roman identity, or opposing endemic warfare and cannibalism is an attack on Maori cultural identity.

Now, that may not strike you as the most intelligent or persuasive argument in the world, but she has more:

"If an Ohio punk has the right to have her genitalia operated on, why has not the Somali woman the same right?" The left, it should be reiterated, regard the person who asked this question as one of their leading intellectuals.

No telling how much of it goes on behind the scenes.

If there must be Live Action Role Play, let it be based on Monty Python's Flying Circus. Best LARP ever.

"'Ello, I wish to inquire about mutilatin' my daughter's genitals, please."

You're daughter's name is Eric?

And in other gruesome news, here’s the world as run by Amanda Marcotte:

The bodies of at least 15,500 unborn babies have been incinerated over the past two years, with some of them used to generate power to heat NHS hospitals, a new investigation has revealed. The report for Channel 4's 'Dispatches' programme, which airs tonight, also found that parents who lose children early on in pregnancy are treated without compassion, and often have no say in what happens to the remains.

Because opposing it is "and attack on cultural identity."

But if limiting the definition of marriage to man/woman, Judeo-Christian cultural identity must be run out of town on a rail.
