Eight More Years, They Cried

Is that a demand or a lament?

Joking. Have a drink or two on me, Mr Thompson.

David

Is that a demand or a lament?

Depending who you ask, it could go either way. And cheers.

Bev

Tip jar hit. Eight more years!

Keep up the good work.

Consider the tip jar tickled - warm regards from chilly New England.

This is the only blog I visit where I always read all the comments.

Well worth some $

David

This is the only blog I visit where I always read all the comments.

The best reading is usually in the comments. It’s why this place is here. And thanks to all who’ve chipped in so far. It’s much appreciated.

another lurker

Gladly. I must have spent hours here (lurking until now).

Neil

Tipped.

OT: Thought this was a joke and followed link.

Not a joke.

Thanks for running great blog.

Tip jar hit.

Just hit the Jar.
Well, I suppose Seagoing Lairs won't pay for themselves:

Paypalled. Loving the 'reheated' series. Lots of stuff I missed.

David

Loving the ‘reheated’ series. Lots of stuff I missed.

I think it’s useful for newcomers and for people who have better things to do than read this blog every single week. And I’d like to think some of the points made in those posts, and in the comments by others, are still relevant. I don’t think of this place as a particularly ‘newsy’ blog, in that it isn’t dependent on what’s happening today or events of the week. It’s more about issues, attitudes, common conceits… that kind of thing.

And again, thanks to all the tip jar ticklers. It makes a big difference to how much time I can spend gassing with the likes of you lot.

I worked all through the winter
The weather brass and bitter
I put away a tenner...

Gotta have a talk with Stanley about these wages. I got blogs to support.

I got blogs to support.

“Sorry, what were you saying…?”

Consider the tip jar tickled - warm regards from chilly New England.

Even warmer regards from the unnaturally warm Wasatch Front, where my flowers are blooming a month out of season.

The spring bulbs can handle any cold that comes their way, but the roses, clematis, and honeysuckle, who have been cajoled into leafing out, cannot.

Yay.

wtp

Wasatch Front!!!

I'm headed there next week. Don't you people be using up what little snow is still there to water your silly flowers. You're supposed to get 5" over the weekend. Do not touch. Us tourists pay a billion bucks of your taxes, you know.

Hal

Well, I suppose Seagoing Lairs won't pay for themselves:

Calm Down, David, that is Not Jean-Luc Picard and you don't get to play in the transporter room.

Instead rather, that's oceanographer Jacques Piccard and astronaut Jean-Loup Chretien . . . .

dicentra

Just keep your eyes on the prize.

Last I heard, the snow was "like buttah," which isn't as good as it sounds.

Seek out the resort with the highest altitude and you should be OK. They lie about their snow depths, BTW, so go with altitude.

More bad art, please. *hits tip jar*

Thanks for some good reads on boring train journeys.

Love monetized. Don't tell the wife.

A token of appreciation, David.

Stu

Great blog, David.

Much overdue filthy lucre contribution finally dispatched. Hope one of these days I should emerge from the lurker chrysalis to mature commenter.

M

Kaching. :-)

J

For making me laugh many times despite being on the tube at 7am.

done lurking

Keep up the great work, David. I'd miss my weekly fix. *hits tip jar*
