“The call was recorded (like all White House calls at the time), and has since become the stuff of legend. Johnson’s anatomically specific directions to Mr. Haggar are some of the most intimate words we’ve ever heard from the mouth of a President.”

I like how they're the best pants he's found anywhere in the United States. But they're like riding a wire fence.

Nearly all men of Johnson's generation carried pocket knives, and probably had been doing so since they were 8 years old. They were regarded as tools, not weapons.
I still habitually carry one and find uses for it all the time.

Once at a meeting of the National Security Council, the aptly named President Johnson stood up, unzipped, thumped his weiner onto the polished wooden table and stated, "Ho Chi Minh will never get this."

Women are appalled by this story. Outwardly, men go along with the ladies' disgust, but secretly think, "Perhaps Lyndon was our greatest president after all."
