You know, it used to be when people got older they fudged memories/anecdotes about excelling at stuff like high school football or winning a spelling be. Now it's trying to make one's life shittier than it actually was.
I'm disappointed that the comment "Also, one more inappropriate comment, and I will block you on FB" was by the daughter and not by the mother. Additionally, I'm disheartened that the mother's comment could be considered "inappropriate."

I suppose that if you’re going to make envy a big part of your politics and identity, if resentment and seething is the way to signal virtue, then it helps to have some pretext, even an exaggerated or fabricated one. It’s the modern way.
OT (but perhaps not because it is all about adolescent tantrums) I notice in your popular searches list that Lena Dunham has bounced Laurie Penny as the most searched. In fact, LP is now down to No 3 after Dunham and Owen Jones. Can we expect the hissy fit and the claw scratching any time soon?
