Didn't Jodie Foster use that to get to Vega?

This proves it: Laurie Penny is a parody:

Actually I’m taking a stand against the patriarchal notion of competence
That would explain the journalism.

Protests involving the dumping of tea? Meh, it's been done. She's not even original.

You know, I think that might be the first recorded sighting of a sense of humour in Laurie Penny. Reads like self-deprecation and an undercutting of her usual THE WORLD IS ON FIRE routine to me.
It's the end of days :-o
That she feels the need to broadcast such a pointless, inconsequential thing as knocking a cup of tea over, however - and that said pointless utterance is framed in such a way as to assume that the reader cares enough to have an opinion on the event - suggests her self-obsession and self-importance remain as monumental as ever.
Actually, given her history, I doubt she spilled a cup of tea at all.

Age of Tin Man looks a lot better than Avengers Grimm - a film which I would only recommend to my worst enemy.
