It’s not racism when people of colour are prejudiced against white people.
And,
You can’t be sexist against men.
The deep intersectional wisdom of incompetent “comic artist” Alli Kirkham.

Dear intersectional feminists, redefining all the words ≠ winning the argument.

redefining all the words ≠ winning the argument.
Quite. See also, begging the question.
But it’s interesting how so much of this stuff requires sleights of hand. Which is to say, learned dishonesty.

Putting aside racism and sexism, is it still OK to be prejudiced against deeply, profoundly stupid, ignorant people?

"It isn't bad when we do it."
All of their sophistry and wriggling boils down to this.

redefining all the words ≠ winning the argument.
The strain of feminism currently in vogue seems to rest heavily on bald assertion. Which may explain the rise to prominence of, for instance, the permanently hyperbolical Laurie Penny, who struggles with facts and basic logic but nonetheless insists that “culture hates women” and that “men as a structure, men as a group hate women.” I’ve yet to find any credible attempt by her to substantiate these claims, these unargued declarations. They’re just offered up as Gnostic wisdom, and consumed as such, as if self-evidently true to those deemed enlightened.

Back in the mid-Sixties when I was a but a wee lad, we learned a song in Sunday School, "Jesus Loves The Little Children." "Red and yellow, black and white, they are precious in His sight. Jesus loves the little children of the world."
My very white, born-in-Alabama mother explained to me, "If we're all equal in Jesus's eyes, we're all equal. Period."
"Okay," thought I.
Pity, I didn't know I was being brought up to be a racist.

"If you have always believed that everyone should play by the same rules and be judged by the same standards, that would have gotten you labeled a radical 50 years ago, a liberal 25 years ago and a racist today." Thomas Sowell on the money, there.

Incidentally, regarding the invidious nonsense about only white people being capable of racism, here’s the endpoint of that conceit.

Blimey. I don’t know about racism, but there’s certainly a generous helping of dumb. It’s almost – almost – funny. Though not, I think, amusing for young Mr Mohamed.

"Jesus loves the little children of the world."
We sang a similar one in primary school with the chorus:
If you want to paint a picture of everyone/you need every colour under the sun.
A lot has changed since then though. Sadly these days it's more likely to be:
If you want to paint a picture of everyone/you're disrespecting Muslims by flagrantly flouting Islamic idolatry laws.

“Preferring women with long hair is sexist?”
Preferring women is sexist. Unless it's for a job. Then the opposite applies.
Or something like that.
Rob: There seems to be a lot of “It isn't bad when we do it” around these days.
Simon: Isn't Gizmodo Gawker Media? But, more importantly, my computer has 4 gigabytes of RAM (modest by today's standards, but still... four gig-a-bytes) and a 3.2 GHz 64-bit processor. It can run current videogames without missing a beat. Why does a bloody web page bring it shuddering to a grinding halt? 15 years ago I browsed the web quite happily on an Amiga with 32 megabytes and a 50 MHz processor that couldn't even decode MP3s in real time. “Web designers” should be strung up by the ankles and beaten with rolled-up 1980s issues of Personal Computer World. Bring back Gopher.

Don't underestimate the power of stupid statements to be eagerly accepted by the masses.
Anything that justifies not engaging in self-examination is like free candy: good luck persuading people to reject it because it will spoil their dinner. Soul. Whatever.

Meanwhile, in the Guardian:
The author of this fearsome insight is Jess Zimmerman, she of the unbecoming hair. Ms Zimmerman describes herself to readers as a “misandrist of note,” one whose interests include “metaphors, misandry and cogent cultural analysis.” (On Twitter she describes herself as a “misandrist witch” and “angry for a living.”)

I think 'projectile maleness' might shrivel somewhat when confronted with Elizabeth Farrelly.

It’s interesting how she and George Monbiot both seem keen to embrace a new religious fundamentalism to further their aims. Which is only odd in that I’d assumed they already had done.

but he is lucky he didn’t have to struggle against white privilege I suppose.
The irony being that this kind of pretentious signalling tends to be done by middle-class people whose need for attention and social status isn’t matched by any corresponding talent or charisma. People who, despite being able to waste huge sums of money on joke degrees and enjoying a lifestyle that half the world would envy, still want us to believe that they’re being cruelly oppressed in ever-more rarefied and improbable ways. And the fact that they can pretend such things with near impunity, all evidence to the contrary, and even be rewarded for their pretence, demonstrates just how unoppressed they are.

re Sexbots: Sheesh....It would seem to me that anything done through completely voluntary and noninvasive means to lessen the chances of corrupting the gene pool with the kind of people whose desires are fulfilled through sex with a robot would be a good thing. And this is a concern of people who don't like the attention of men to begin with? Methinks she doth protest too much.

Regards that charming comic; at first I thought it was set in a community of socially aware thalidomide victims, subtly highlighting the positive contribution of the differently abled to the great social justice convergence. On reflection though I am more and more convinced that these people can only be Otherkin, ground breaking stuff.

We laugh at them, we shake our heads in disbelief at their idiocy and blatant hypocrisy . . .
. . . but they're winning. They are the ones who educate our children. They are the ones who make and break people's careers based on Twitter comments. They are the ones who control the discourse of our society.
It's all very well to laugh at the sillies with their silly uniforms and their silly armbands and their leader with the silly mustache, until you hear a knock on the door at night and realize nobody thinks they're silly any more.

. . . but they're winning.
Indeed. And they're winning because they fight dirty and fight relentlessly. From that same Sultan Knish article quoted by PiperPaul:
They are a swarm of devouring locusts, the nightmarish horde of nanobots that consumes everything in its path while reproducing exponentially with what it consumes. Is it possible to stop such a determined, innumerate, mindless force? I really don't know. I can resist assimilation into their mindset, but as for stopping them devouring the Republic, I am at a total loss.
Locusts move on when there's nothing left to eat. How devastated must we be before there's nothing left to destroy?
What might stop the Left is Muslim conquest: the only force currently more brutal, more numerous, and more determined than they to annihilate the West and salt its earth.

@Si - I don't so much give a damn about imagining colleagues naked but how come the conversation was taped?? Are employers now recording workplace conversations? And why should any action be under consideration to discipline the women? Are private conversations now fair game? Actually, yes - the Lord Lieutenant of (Leicestershire?) recently resigned after he sent an email expressing the opinion that Pakistanis were ill-mannered. We don't know how/why that private opinion became public knowledge but so it did, since which time it's probably become a crime to disseminate that opinion and I can expect a knock on the door?
How the hell did we come to this? (The Blair Years?) and why do we still grovel in the face of this nonsense?

As I recall, because it was a council meeting---and thus needing a transcript to be part of The Official Record . . or however exactly such are done . . . There may be official minutes, and the approving of such minutes, but also minutes have to be created from something, and automatically making a recording of such meetings rather simplifies such.

No way. Precious snowflakes like that don't last a second like that in the face of 30 feral 13 year olds!
School teachers tend to be left wing, but most aren't part of the grievance crowd. There's too many real issue to be worrying about fake ones.
They are present at university, but not teaching anything hard enough to matter. People mostly just ignore them. Yes, there are too many "studies" courses, but not as a percentage. More as a result of there being far too many at university in general.

Something smelled funny about this "inventing a clock" story and it is now coming out. After, of course, invitations to the White House, Mark Zuckerberg, and MIT. There was no "inventing". It's a disassembled cheap digital clock thrown into a case. As usual the real overreaction is the overreaction to the slight-yet-justifiable intial overreaction. That his father has twice run for president of one of the most f'd up muslim countries in the world (Sudan), of course is completely irrelevant. The intent being...?
