In contrast, one of the best attempts at seduction that I’ve seen, or rather overheard, took place in Nottingham in the Nineties, in the small hours. The Other Half and I woke to the sound of a cappella soul harmonies coming from the street outside, where two very polite chaps were attempting to woo two young ladies, who were presumably on their way home from a club. The harmonies were, to my ear, faultless and the hopeful crooners managed a full song, quite expressively and perfectly in tune.
Alas, the ladies had other plans. But the chaps did get a round of applause for their trouble.
You will no doubt be utterly gobsmacked to learn he lives in the Clown Quarter as a "Trans Advocate and Public Educator" at Concordia University's Center for Gender Advocacy.
So, what DOES it mean to go to the river? Does anybody know?
Given what are probably the rather standard concepts tied into the phrase and intent of to go to the river---or also---to go down to the river, the combination of reference and discussion do rather provide some very interesting connective conjunctions . . . .
Concordia University's Center for Gender Advocacy.
Not to be confused with either Moorhead, MN's Concordia College (ELCA) which is progressive in the extreme or the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod's Concordia University System which has campuses in a number of states and remains conservative in outlook and practice.
I'm sorry. I'm really, really sorry. I mean, I know we produced Jordan Peterson - somehow - but honestly we're just a country full of complete loons and I've completely given up at this point.
Not sure what to make of that. Any help would be appreciated.
It means that A) you have to one-up the fellow by duplicating what he did with a full teacup, and that B) as proof of success, you have to post the resulting video here on this page . . . .
I've actually seen worse attempts. :-)

I think it’s the unfortunate combination of a measuring tape and a small saucer.

*Steps away from computer and strides purposefully to the toolbox to obtain the Stanley Measuring Tape*

Mankind went through the stone age, bronze age, iron age, middle ages, renaissance, age of exploration, industrial revolution, information age...
All for this.
Who among us can say it was not worthwhile?

Speaking of the ladies, in the French corner of the Great White North, the largest women's group elected a man as Madame la Présidente.

Showed my wife...after a Jameson and a couple beers. Her comment? “Spectacular”. Not sure what to make of that. Any help would be appreciated.
