The funny thing about the "male feminist ally" is that he honestly things that because he was "only" trying to kick her phone, that constitutes a defense to assault and indeed, is evidence of his "restraint." Evidently actually tweeted as much. Further, his "righteous" indignation at engaging a pro-life activist justifies his behavior--which including defacing other women's clothing--in any event.
We are in a very scary place, and it's difficult to envision an end that is not going to involve substantial civil unrest.

Morning, all.
We are in a very scary place,
Yes, but Mr Hunt, our super-woke hairdresser and feminist ally, is empowering women and defending their rights by gleefully assaulting a woman whose opinion differs from his own, and then assaulting her again, having already assaulted other people, including a 10-year-old girl, and then bravely fleeing the scene before the police arrive. Presumably, holding differing opinions is not a right that women should be permitted to have.
As noted here and elsewhere, the fact that so many feminists have a sour and resentful view of men may in part be explained by the kind of ‘woke’ men that feminists choose to associate with.

Nah. Their assholes and degenerate scum. This was quite apparent after what happened to George Zimmerman. Don't recall if Kavanaugh spoke up on that or not but if he did not, as much as I hate to say it he deserves what he's had to endure. Just him though. Not his wife nor daughters nor his extended family nor what little remains of the sane people in this country. I really have no words. Well, those words sure. I've gotten to the point where I look at pretty much everyone I meet in daily life, especially some of my leftist (though they think of themselves as centrists) co-workers, with contempt and loathing. Not sure if that's redundant, too lazy to look it up, but if it is it was necessary.

Hey, I'm with you on this. I've been po'd about this lynch mob mentality since I sat down and read through the court documents from the Zimmerman trial. My mistake on expecting K to have spoken up. But still applies to many of his defenders. And most of the people in this country. Pathetic little crowd followers. Worms have more backbone when the chips are down. That Zimmerman situation was utter and complete BS. Yeah, they found him not guilty but his life is ruined. Of course Zimmerman's another one to some extent. I'm quite certain that if that had been someone else in his shoes, he would have been a part of the lynch mob or approving of such.

I'm not just angry, I'm furious.
The truly frightening thing is how similar the current #MeToo climate is to the satanic child sex abuse hysteria of late '80s and '90s, which I experienced as a young lawyer. The parallels are striking, including giving probative value to mere accusations, the fear of triers of fact to be labeled "soft" on assaults against women, the belief that alleged victims don't lie, the veneration of stories which are patently absurd, the proliferation of "experts" whose sole purpose is to provide allegedly "scientific" cover to the abolition of due process, the ease with which lives can be ruined ad infinitum, ad nauseum.
For the record, though, I don't believe for a second that the Democrats believe any of the allegations leveled against Kavanaugh. Rather, I think this was/is a deliberate attempt to fabricate objections from whole cloth and demonstrates conclusively what they would do if they ever return to power.

The problem being the paper’s pretence that the individual in question is a woman, rather than a trans woman, or in this case, a bedlamite with an appetite for children. I’ll concede an extra trans category, to accommodate people with gender dysphoria; but the expectation that we should perceive one thing, quite vividly, and pretend not to see it, and indeed pretend to see its opposite, is… faintly insulting.

We may have spoken of this before. I know I've been talking about it with friends around my age that recall that time.
I live in SoCal and was a young mom at the time. The coverage of the case in the time before the internet where tv & major newspapers alone decided the information stream was salacious, fear-mongering, and totally on board with the moral panic.
And the more bizarre the stories out of the children, the more the "Believe the Children" mob dug in their heels.
The local DA in the McMartin case actually had the grounds of the school dug up in search of the "secret tunnels" the children recalled in "recovered memories."

Don't count your chickens yet. There seems to be, IMNSHO, a serious misunderstanding by people on the right who correlate the degree of stupidity, of obvious and glaring stupidity exposed and that stupidity sinking in such as to influence the average voter. I work with people who I am sure if asked to check a box would count themselves as "leaning conservative" or MoR or Independent. Yet these people are all-in on Keynsianism, global warming, higher minimum wage, white privilege (though not to the degree of most lefties), etc. Elon Musk is their hero. They emphasize the Democrat in DemSoc. These people, some in their 40's some millennials (actually one of the most reasonable ones is a millennial, he's just not old enough to truly understand yet) have been so brainwashed to fear anything they perceive as coming from the right that were I to wager, I'd bet they vote D. Especially in regard to our (Florida) governor and senate races. They mock Trump on an almost daily basis. I can guess the lead story on NPR based on morning break room conversations.

The local DA in the McMartin case actually had the grounds of the school dug up in search of the "secret tunnels" the children recalled in "recovered memories."
I once had a prominent medical doctor, who was a) a professor at a local medical school and b) the founder and head of an "institute" concerned with child sexual abuse, testify that physical corroborating evidence was irrelevant to determining whether abuse occurred, and in fact, the absence of such evidence should be taken as proof of the severe trauma experienced by a child. Fortunately, the judge in my case (was defending, obviously) was "old school" and didn't buy it, but such were the times.
There were a few lone voices in the wilderness trying to talk reason, but they were marginalized within the psychiatric/psychological/social work community and labeled "deniers."
I could go on, but the frenzy was amazing and caused me to truly understand how easily a mob can lose its collective mind.

It's all the same crap. McMartin, Ferguson MO, Duke LaCross, Zimmerman, UVA frat house, on and on and on. But no one pays the price for these lynch mobs. We simply let the leftist clowns and screaming harpies ruin lives all around the country, then go back to our normal routines as if nothing really happened. No consequences. It's uncomfortable to bring it up after all, isn't it? Just best to let sleeping dogs lie. It's all water under the bridge. Oh-blah-dee-blah-duh. Meanwhile things that happened 50-75-100-150 years ago are remembered and commemorated. Streets and schools are renamed. Statues torn down.

But no one pays the price for these lynch mobs.
It's certainly rare, but it does happen. Rolling Stone got sued; D.A. Nifong in the Duke lacrosse case lost his law license.
The problem is one of fear. As I key this, Twitter is aflutter with Leftists demanding riots when Kavanaugh is confirmed and threatening to hound Republican Senators forever because of their votes. Setting aside the violations of various laws for threatening federal officers and inciting riots, the purpose is to send a message to the judges and politicians: Do what we want or we will harass you and your family until you comply. Social media artificially amplifies it as mentioned above and provides mental succor to the loons who contemplate it.
The question is locating the origins of such things. I hate go all "conspiracy nut," but I think the true instigators are so well insulated and protected that it's virtually impossible to hold them accountable.
Which is why I am not optimistic about our country's near term future.

R. Sherman, they count on the Deplorables behaving in a gentlemanly and civilized fashion. That’s not necessarily a safe thing to count on. These things have a way of evening out—particularly when a lot of busywork-type jobs require security clearances of one sort or another. Harassing a Congressman is not advised if you wish to keep such a clearance. It is also illegal to harass a Federal official in the performance of his duties.
Ted Cruz could have had the whole lot of protesters arrested had he wanted to push it.

I don't remember that in the movie. Maybe you're thinking of "Demon Seed" (1977)? I remember Time magazine's review included something about the computer wanting to get into Julie Christie's "genes".

Great for snow.
I suspect balance might be impaired. Also, tightrope-walking and ballet would be changed forever.

the words that stood out were open relationship and English major.
Sadly, "English Major" used to actually mean something. I was working towards that when life - marriage, kids - happened. I actually wanted to be a high school English teacher. I dreamed of introducing students to great books and how to write coherently. Maybe even advancing some to writing persuasively.
Alas, at the time I went back to college after kids were grown, the state of English-as-major and teaching in public schools was something I knew was pretty much lost to Leftism.

Can we at least agree, on the job physical harassment/stalking should not be tolerated?

It’s 87 degrees here at 1630. This is not normal. I disapprove.

That's YUGE!
I wonder what SUPREME COURT JUSTICE BRETT KAVANAUGH (BOO-YAH!) would have to say about it? Those women probably need to have some ice thrown on them lest they accuse the Earth of raping them some decades hence:-D.

Let's just get on with it and go to page two. It's where all the cool kids are.
