Time for another tug on the teats of super-woke theorising:
White people ‘can’t dance’ because white-ness is a traumatized state that is disconnected from the body.
Set aside those thoughts of ballet, Footloose and MGM musicals. We must press on.
Colonization/Westernization has profoundly impacted the way we move our bodies. Just think about even this little fact: most non-European people didn’t wear pants before colonization, and if they did, they were not tight.
Tight pants. The obvious tool with which to oppress the Brown-And-Noble-By-Default.
We also generally didn’t sit on chairs. We squatted or sat on the ground. Many of our cultures didn’t glorify tight muscular abs.
Damn you, White Devil, conquering the world with chairs. And defined abdominals.
Our bodies ‘moved’ completely differently before colonization/Westernization. We had a much greater sense of the lower body and abdomen.
In short, the Brown-And-Noble-By-Default “have been white-ified,” which is “trauma.” You see,
White-ness… is an energetic imbalance caused by a loss of spinal fluidity and awareness of the lower body. Emotional energy becomes concentrated in the upper body, particularly gathering in the mind. To live in a world dominated by white-ness is to live in an environment that denies and protects white-ness as embodied trauma.
If that’s insufficiently persuasive,
White-ness is traumatization itself.
The “white body,” it turns out, is a “state of disconnection between mind and body. It is ungrounded and cannot feel the earth.” And which therefore has to be corrected, by an expert, a healer, for $200 an hour.
Such are the mental rumblings of Tada Hozumi, whose pronouns, we learn, are “them/they.” Because of course they are.
I’m a genderqueer therapist of colour (Japanese) based in both Unceded Coast Salish Territories (so-called Canadian Pacific North West) and Tio’tia:ke (so-called Montreal).
Our “cultural somatic therapist” is schooled in,
the practice of consciously facilitating the co-healing of individual and cultural bodies, through the principles of trauma-informed body-centred healing.
Said being’s areas of expertise include,
‘Western’ healing modalities such as expressive arts therapy (which I am certified in), somatic therapy, and dance movement therapy.
And,
Afro-diasporic popular dance, specifically ‘popping’.
Chair-appreciating White Devils with limited spinal fluidity are doubtless trembling in terror.
Update:
In the comments, Alice notes,
They love to ‘other’ people based on race. We used to have a word for that.
Indeed. It would seem that our woke betters have merely changed the label, from racist to anti-racist, while their mental habits are much the same as those of the archetypal bigot, only less inhibited by social disapproval. Hence the overt glee in pathologising people of pallor. The ones who apparently can’t dance on account of their “energetic imbalance” and a “loss of spinal fluidity.” And so, we’re told that a “white body… cannot feel the earth.” Lacking, as it does, that Sino-Negro-Indo-Aboriginal ectoplasm.
And the overlap of wokeness and ludicrous New Age woo has been noted here many times. Whether it’s “social justice theorists” telling us that minority students shouldn’t be expected to deliver coursework promptly or pay much attention in class, being, as they are, so utterly alien, akin to leprechauns, to the woke-lings at Everyday Feminism and Wear Your Voice, who regularly enthuse about witchcraft, tree-pushing and magic sea shells, along with a thrilling array of quite serious mental health issues.
There is, I think, a pattern.

It is a tad presumptuous. Presumably, we’re supposed to believe that all non-white people were fundamentally different from BadWhitey™ – but, oddly enough, all in exactly the same way, all “feeling the earth” and having more “spinal fluidity.” On account of all that squatting. And a lack of tight trousers.

Reliably so.

When I say ‘white’ this doesn’t equal European. I understand that there are long and unique histories of European peoples that I can’t speak to as I am not the expert. For me white begins in the ‘enlightenment’ era where reason came to the forefront of European society.

That is some Bull Connor level racism wherein Mr. Mudede is just showing by ordering a black around he is infected with parasitic whiteness described by Dr. Moss above.
Unless, of course, it is the black cat refusing to obey a black man and also prefers to sit in a chair instead of the floor, it proves its cultural somatics is afflicted with parasitic whiteness.
Maybe Mudede is just jealous the cat has no pants and a more fluid spine.

Meat on the bone - unfortunately with this stuff the bone is generally a brontosaurus femur so TBF one has to wade though a lot of garbage just to find it.
However, once having found it, and seeing as how to the woke lot something as trivial using a "wrong" pronoun is "harm" or "violence", my morbid curiosity again kicked in to see if he would let us in on what his "harm" was. Unless I missed something about deliberate infliction of disease, bruising, or tissue damage, it appears "harm" is all about hurt feelings because of a spat with the party of the second part or someone jumping the gun in a hookup.
IOW, his accountability statement is just the usual SJW type arglebargle wherein the purveyor wants to feel superior by confessing to some made up thoughtcrime while also touting superiority over mere mortals for having recognized and overcome his faults.

In my experience it’s mostly ‘whitey’ who are whinging - by that I mean mobs of progressive Anglo sorts.
The Aboriginals have a legitimate grievance and I have a lot of time for what they have to say on the matter. They’re certainly not reciting the same dull list of ideological talking points Anglo progressives are. Case in point: Clem Ford - kind of an Australian Laurie Penny - posted on Facebook the other day in support of the ‘Pay the Rent’ campaign. First comment was by an Aboriginal person highly critical of the initiative.

"Popping" was actually invented by a white person -- Dick Van Dyke.
Seriously.
The leader of the dance troupe credited as first popularizing the "popping" dance style in the '70s -- a guy called Don Campbell of the group The Lockers -- has said repeatedly in interviews that he got the idea for the dance style from a scene in the film "Chitty Chitty Bang Bang" in which Sally Ann Howes robotically moves like a music-box wind-up toy, joined by Dick Van Dyke pretending to be me a marionette on a broken string. The scene was entirely choreographed by Van Dyke in 1968. After rumors that a dance troupe had used his moves to make a new dance craze, Van Dyke invited them on his TV show so they could perform it together in the early '70s (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3Lshj96xsfU).
Based on this one fact alone, this "whiteness" theory entirely disintegrates. "Tada Hozumi" cites "popping" as the ultimate Noble Savage inversion of uptight whiteness. But all he's doing is co-opting yet again another invention by the Evil White Man.

One of my college classmates came from a rather rural area, where as she and a bunch of her high school classmates were going off to their senior prom, they did a group trip to the local all out French restaurant, 'cause Prom. They got there, they got seated, the menus arrived, the eyes utterly glazed over, and My friend went --Oh--. Farm hands, and that's all they know. . . . 'K, Guys. On these menus; This, this, this, this, this, this, and This, is meat. That, that, that, that, that, that, and That, means potato.
The meal ordering went just fine from there.

"Popping" was actually invented by a white person -- Dick Van Dyke.
Fascinating.
Zombie, I immensely appreciate the blogging and reporting you have done. Thank you, thank you.

Why this is almost like white supremacists stating Africans have differently formed brains and skulls limiting their cognitive abilities a la Django Unchained.
