These people need medication.

David

These people need medication.

It’s quite a thing, the screeching, the projection, and general psychodrama.

And they call him “unprofessional.”

David

Sadly, following her unhinged racial meltdown, Ms Broshi has withdrawn from social media. Presumably, she’s busy rationalising how her new notoriety is all the fault of white people.

Mike

Should you now have a taste for bureaucratic tedium enlivened with outpourings of woke mania – which is to say, nasty, unhinged twattery - here’s 90 minutes more.

Sorry, can't handle 90 minutes of that. F*cking hell.

David

Sorry, can’t handle 90 minutes of that.

It would, I think, be asking a lot. Though the dynamics, while tedious, are fairly revealing.

David

Sorry, can’t handle 90 minutes of that.

The Kafkatrapping, the regurgitation of woke incantations (often seemingly at random), the repeated bait and switch, the almost orgasmic delight in scolding – it’s all there. And the projection is hard to miss. And so, Ms Broshi accuses Mr Wrocklage of racism, while visibly struggling to explain why, and while herself making extraordinarily patronising claims about black people, whose single, collective mind she pretends to be plugged into. Ms Broshi then accuses Mr Wrocklage of being impervious to honest argument, while herself performing any contortion, at any volume, to avoid giving a straight answer or supporting her own sweeping, somewhat racist and rather spiteful accusations.

Again, in case it isn’t clear. These are not good people. They do not mean well.

MC

This is why I believe in small government. We might not be able to eradicate* these mentalists, but at least we can stop paying for them.

*well, we could obvously. I have many plans for the eradication of SJWs, which could be easily and painlessly** enacted once power is transferred*** into my hands...
** more or less
*** vote MC, it's the only vote you'll ever get need.

Trevor

I'll have to give the full version a miss, if you'll forgive me. I'd rather chow down on whatever it is that Karl is holding in that photo.

Trevor

MC, that 'painlessly' has cost you my vote, I'm afraid.

Adam

We used to call people bigots who openly expressed dislike of ‘race mixing’ . Today, a person is called bigoted for saying “all lives matter”.

David

I’d rather chow down on whatever it is that Karl is holding in that photo.

I believe it’s the remains of a prostitute. You should see his freezer.

What?

Mags

“It hurts people when they see a white man bouncing a brown baby on their lap!”

Wow. Talk about screwed up.

David

Talk about screwed up.

Well, yes. It’s a practised neuroticism. And remember, these are the kinds of sentiments and logical contortions, and the kinds of personalities, to which we’re supposed to defer, to which we’re supposed to aspire. As some kind of woke ideal.

David

And again, as so often, it’s not just some random wrongness. It’s perverse, jarringly so. It’s the kind of mindset you might cultivate if you actively wanted to do harm.

JuliaM

’ It’s the kind of mindset you might cultivate if you actively wanted to do harm.’

If you wanted to deliberately create a fractured, dysfunctional society forever fighting amongst itself and never able to organise to move things forward in real progress, I’m not sure what else you’d be doing, other than letting these crazies have their head.

It's a struggle session.

Batshit Broshi's twitter biography proclaims that "meritocracy is literally a joke" and links to an old Guardian article by former Labour MP Michael Young entitled 'Down with meritocracy'.

I don't agree with all Mr Young has to say, but he makes some very good points which are still pertinent almost two decades later. Including this:

It is good sense to appoint individual people to jobs on their merit. It is the opposite when those who are judged to have merit of a particular kind harden into a new social class without room in it for others.

This certainly applies today. We have huge numbers of youngsters going to university, generally based on their ability to pay or borrow for their education, rather than their ability. So we now have an allegedly meritocratic class of people who get jobs on the basis of having degree level education, regardless of the worthlessness of that degree. Ms Broshi seems to be an apposite case.

At the same time, the higher education scammers who grow fat on fake education have also developed a new order of merit, the ability to spout PC/woke verbiage. Again, Broshi provides an excellent example. I imagine it is impossible to get a white collar job in any branch of the state in the US or UK without being able to prove 'merit' in both these categories.

I wonder if she sees the irony?

Young notes that the Attlee cabinet of 1945 included Ernest Bevin and Herbert Morrison, both men who left school young (11 in Bevin's case) and yet went on to great things. He contrasts the Attlee cabinet with Blair's 2001 edition, the latter filled with middle class graduates.

Can you imagine a person who left school at 14 ever making it into the cabinet today?

Jubi Lee

I couldn't even do 13 seconds of it...

What happens if the bounced babe is the child of the bouncer and his charming, but very black, partner?
Surely miscegenation must also be waaacist .... ?
Isn't it .....?

Joan

So... being friends with black people is racist now?

sH2

"I'm not calling you racist."

She literally just did call him racist.

bgates

It hurts people when they see a white man bouncing a brown baby on their lap!

I don't know about "hurt" exactly, but I'd at least be startled if I were with a group of people and a man started bouncing a baby of any sort on our collective lap.

Sue Sims

I watched this via another site that linked to it, and it's almost comical: after Ms Broshi establishes her woke credentials, a 'Latino' (presumably Puerto Rican, from his name), attacks her for being a (bloated) capitalist who just wants to keep his people ignorant. After which, Ms Broshi fervently apologises ("I have work to do!") - not that it avails her anything.

It might be consoling, watching them spend all the time attacking each other rather than working out how best to spend the money available for the schools in their district: surely, one might suppose, people who spend all their time trying to destroy their colleagues aren't any sort of threat to anyone. But Frodo has it right:

"That is the spirit of Mordor, Sam...Orcs have always behaved like that, or so all tales say, when they are on their own. But you can't get much hope out of it. They hate us far more, altogether and all the time. If those two had seen us, they would have dropped all their quarrel until we were dead."

Sue Sims

So... being friends with black people is racist now?

Joan, you haven't quite grasped the, er, nuances of this mindset. Not being friends with black people is racist; being friends with black people is racist. You can't escape it. Just admit that your white privilege means that you secretly want to lynch all non-white people, and acknowledge that you have Work To Do.

Darleen

What happens if the bounced babe is the child of the bouncer and his charming, but very black, partner?

Still racist because white people only marry black people as cover for their racism.

Ask author Brad Torgersen about that kind of response he receives from the woke left when they find out his "white supremacist" self is married to a black woman.

SumDumGuy

To be fair making a virtue brag joke about having an integrated living room because you have a black friends over is something only a smug libprog would think is funny.

David

surely, one might suppose, people who spend all their time trying to destroy their colleagues aren’t any sort of threat to anyone.

I’d say that such people should under no circumstances be employed. At least not by anyone who values their business.

J West

What I truly enjoy about those ranting loons who are in obvious pain and serious confusion is that they are suffering, they are miserable, they have no happiness in their lives ....

I just love that ... I enjoy their pain. Is that wrong?

Sam

Another white person showing how fragile they are both in personal terms and collective identity. Perhaps the idiots we allow to run early education - for whom the word "no", to a child, constitutes unduly harsh oppression - share the blame.

David

Is that wrong?

At risk of sounding pompous, I’d say that delighting in their bitterness and resentment brings you closer to where they are, as it were, which seems sufficient grounds not to indulge too often. Though I can see the temptation.

Sam

If you wanted to deliberately create a fractured, dysfunctional society forever fighting amongst itself...

Many, many people desperately want to avoid even the appearance of racial forgiveness and they have an out-sized influence on world events and have made themselves the speech police.

Dr Randomercam put it well, but I'll paraphrase: "Imagine I have a button that, when pressed, will erase all racial animus in an instant. Now, imagine how much the media, government, universities, HR departments, etc will pay me NOT to touch it."

Sam

Anyone else notice a common thread with people who whinge about global warming, racism, gun crime, the Wuhan Virus panic, and pretty much everything else? Good news is an anathema to them, innit? Small wonder these people are always a ray of sunshine and pleasant to be around.

asiaseen

@MC

We have huge numbers of youngsters going to university, generally based on their ability to pay or borrow for their education, rather than their ability

I suggest that 13 universities on the verge of insolvency could be a good thing, weed out some of the dross. And if the current crisis leads to the demise of a bunch of Angry Studies departments at surviving institutions, so much the better. Though I do suspect that such courses are a low cost money-spinner.

Can you imagine a person who left school at 14 ever making it into the cabinet today?

Probably because anyone who left school at 14 in the UK is probably dead or on the waiting list.

You may wish to bite down on something.

An anti-emetic might be more to the purpose.

Fame at last!

the remains of a prostitute

It's what you get if you stick your hand down a sheep's gullet and pull hard.
But now it's a prostitute :)

David

It’s what you get if you stick your hand down a sheep’s gullet and pull hard.

I’m going to have to take your word for that.

Karl

Isn't it enlightening to have those three witches of the embedded video explain in clear simple terms what is racist about seeing a white man playing with a black child?

The first witch calmly and rationally explains that she is unable to describe the horrifying depths of his unfathomable racism because he hasn't read the necessary literature. Like what she has.

The second offers up her understanding that his 'joking tone' had implied that "...the hundreds of years of first slavery and then segregation were nothing .. because you happen to have a black friend".

However, I particularly enjoyed the arrival, at the 7:50 mark, of the 'Black Whisperer'.
This witch declares, presumably utilising arcane ancient ways of knowing, that "this is how Black and Indigenous People of colour see the world". And recommends (more) anti-racism training.

Yes, I'm sure that would help.

Karl

Atlanta mayor calls for citizens to stop 'shooting each other' after murder of 8-year-old near BLM protest site

Hmmm. Perhaps they should establish some kind of organisation or force which could patrol such areas and prevent these tragedies?

Bigland

I wonder if their minds are salvageable at all at this point.

Steve E

And recommends (more) anti-racism training.

I like the witch who goes on about "doing the work" and being willing "to do the work" and the problem with people on the council is they weren't "doing the work."

She's transmogrifying the word "work" in the same way her ilk have transmogrified the word "violence."

I'll bet she hasn't done a day's real work in her life.

Karl

doing the work

Indeed.
Like any sane person I define racism as: (inappropriate) discrimination based on (supposed) race.

If you tell me that you needed to read a book to uncover the racism all around you, I'd say there were two things wrong with that:
1) You.
2) The book.

Hal

Speaking of claims made by children, of varying sizes.

Dogs could help toddlers learn social-emotional skills

. . . . where we who are adults rather than hipsters aren't interested in dogs and note that helping toddlers learn is what parents are for . . .

Hal

It's a statue!!! Target it!!!!

Err, Oh.

“Can you imagine a person who left school at 14 ever making it into the cabinet today?”

I can almost imagine someone who entered Parliament at the age of 14 making it into the Cabinet, the way things are going.

“Surely miscegenation must also be waaacist .... ?
Isn't it .....?”

It will be. Just wait...

And I'm serious. We're seeing the rehabilitation of the likes of Louis Farrakhan. We're this close to “separate but equal”. Only there might not be any “equal”.

Competing with Shanghai isn't even on the cards. This is a banana republic or an oil shiekdom where the resources and sinecures are carved up on tribal lines, job titles and paper qualifications are no indication of any underlying skills, and the serious infrastructure like power stations is kept running by imported Asians. The best Mr Goshdarnit Melting Pot can hope for is that some of the power stations will be run by American-born Asians.

Batshit Broshi's twitter biography proclaims that "meritocracy is literally a joke" and links to an old Guardian article by former Labour MP Michael Young entitled 'Down with meritocracy'.

A lot of what Young projected or intuited in his 1958 book (The Rise of the Meritocracy, 1870-2033) was observed in reality a generation later by people like Charles Murray: the resentment of those stigmatized as inadequate by supposedly objective meritocratic machinery; the danger of arrogance in the officer class no longer kept humble by the awareness of being less innately talented than some of their NCO's; the undermining of the meritocratic principles from within by elite members using all their skill at manipulating procedural outcomes to make sure their less talented offspring don't end up at their correct meritocratic grade.

Young's prediction didn't take into account any of the extra tensions caused by the mass immigration that ramped up in the years after the book appeared - the resentments caused not only by perceived individual failure but by perceived group failure, the community advocacy and quotas, the reinforced arrogance of the officer class who believe that the foot soldiers are not only intellectually but morally backward.

Bevin and Keir Hardie lost out on their academic schooling, but they went to work among men and learned on the job. Young's book is part of a left wing intellectual stream in the 1950's where they correctly feared that they were losing the Bevin's of their generation who were going to grammar school and ending up like Norman Tebbitt or Margaret Thatcher. That school of thought won the debate in the 1960's and English people are living the future that Michael Young thought would be better for them - comprehensive schools where working class kids theoretically get a high quality education without losing their connection to their social class, although in practice it seems that the dull and thuggish kids make it difficult for the talented ones to learn anything. A teenage Bevin of today might end up learning nothing in school and nothing on the job.

Hal

What, again?

Kevin from post-rational Trudeaupia

Yep. When the rules require, that a new scalp must be claimed every 30 seconds. This is the inevitable, easily foreseeable, unavoidable result.

"It's designed to tear communities apart.".

When your enemies are making a mistake, do not get in their way.

Dear UK

California has enough problems, please please - pretty please with sugar on top - would you take them back?

Kevin from post-rational Trudeaupia

I wonder if their minds are salvageable at all at this point.

Unequivocally, resoundingly, without reservation, emphatically, NO. The answer is no, their minds have not been salvageable since Hanoi Jane pulled the Viet Cong train, and published pictures of the after party.

Richard

I read the piece and all the comments. Being of tender sensitivities, I decided to skip the video. So far, it seems like this, "blah blah blah I'm right and you are wrong and you are a bad person blah blah and you have to change. blah. Did I mention you are a racist? blah" Aforementioned twaddle delivered with this justification. "because I said so and I saw something on twitter".

It seems radical to say but two people talking and agreeing on something does not make it a fact. Things written on twitter are probably opinions, not facts.

It appears to me that there are thousands, even hundreds, of people who are alive merely because the rest of us have decided that they are not that annoying and it is not worth the trouble to do something about them. On the other hand, they have become dangerous.

NTSOG

Those 'three witches' are just the sort of harpies who would call the Police if they saw a father playing with his children in a local park because he must be a paedophile if he's even near children and enjoying their company.

Steve E

would you take them back?

We got off pretty cheap here in Canada, 3 months and $56K-Canadian (which is like $1.57 US). Oh, and we don't want them back either.

In this Tuesday, Jan. 7, 2020 file photo, Prince Harry and Meghan, Duchess of Sussex smile during their visit to Canada House, in London.

That word, “and”. I don’t think it means what the writer thinks it means.

The reason these people are so hatefully miserable is that the woke religion offers no possibility of redemption or love.

They're like a massive collection of Munchausen sufferers: They create an impossibly cruel imaginary world from which there is no escape and torment themselves and make everyone around them miserable by attending to their psychosis.

Uma Thurmond's Feet

would you take them back?

Nice of her kidnappers to film the video, and the sight of a British royal with her racial background lecturing us about racial inequality reminds me of a word ... what was it ... on the tip of me tongue.

John

As a white Jew myself (blame my parents) it doesn’t surprise me in the least that Ms Broshi proudly proclaims herself as such in her twitter bio.

Jews, not exclusively American - just look at our own loveable Jewish Labour groups, have a long history of despising all other Jews outside their immediate circle as well as being largely responsible for that more regrettable and consequential communism thing. If I didn’t actually believe in my religion I would have walked away purely due to the idiocy and general sh1t stirring so perfectly encapsulated here. We don’t help ourselves.

Sam Duncan

Office Block Persecution Affinity: I don't want to write a book, so I'll just say, “Good comment“.

“California has enough problems, please please - pretty please with sugar on top - would you take them back?”

Oh, Hell no. One of your own wanted to be a pwincess. You can deal with the consequences.

(Seriously, I genuinely believe that, as an American, she had no idea of the British attitude towards the Royal family. Sure, a few of us go mad and fawn over them, but the official position since the Glorious Revolution has been that they're tolerated. “God save our gracious Queen”: it's actually a veiled reminder that as long as she's “gracious”, and doesn't throw her weight about, we're good. The American Revolution was, at heart, a very British affair. And Princess Sparkles has been anything but gracious. Thank God there are plenty ahead of Harry in the succession.)

Hal

Jews, . . . have a long history of despising all other Jews outside their immediate circle . . .

A ship comes across a very isolated island that isn't even on the charts. Being curious, the crew has a look and finds a Jewish survivor of a shipwreck that occurred some twenty years earlier. The crew is very impressed and asked how he had survived. Well, the castaway explains, he was able to live off of the plants that were growing on the island, managed to assemble assorted tools to do fishing, used what was available to build a house to live in, and so forth. The crew looks about, and sure enough, there is a small building nearby, a little bit further on, there is a second building, and waaaay off down the coastline there is a barely visible third building.

That's your house?

Oh, yes.

That second building?

Oh, I'm Jewish, that's my shul, that's where I daven every day.

The crew is definitely very impressed . . . and . . . What's that third building, way off there?

Oh, That. Yes, this nearby is the shul that I daven in, that is the shul that I wouldn't be caught dead in.

Hal

. . . wanted to be a pwincess. You can deal with the consequences.

And, keeping such in mind, and quite noting that a title such as Earl, Count, Duke, King, still does happen to be a job title---not much automatically resulting battlefield stuff anymore, but just the same---there are the associated consequences of having such a title . . . . .

There is the established and demonstrated idea of choosing to situationally work one's butt off as a part of winding up with a title of Duchess . . . .

Chester Draws

There is the established and demonstrated idea of choosing to situationally work one's butt off as a part of winding up with a title of Duchess

I think she made Duchess the traditional way -- using her butt. Not that much different from Meghan really.

Working hard (and cosying up to the right types) will make you a Knight/Dame at best.
